1-Minute Panic... and then back to work
Transform despair into overwhelm - one little step at a time
Hey friends!
Okay. Whew. Okay. Yikes.
If you’ve been buried in diapers and haven’t had a chance to check the news - no shame. But just to catch you up to speed, the Supreme Court just ruled in favor of placing dictator-level power on the US presidency.
And I guess moving forward, presidents can’t be convicted for crimes. I mean - they always found a way to weasel out of the consequences, but at least there was some check on their power to keep them from becoming outright dictators.
And now - aahhhh, nope. Nope. No more checks. As I said - yikes. I don’t know what to do right now.
But that’s okay. We’re gonna figure it out together.
Never underestimate the power of a whole bunch of parents fighting together to protect our kids. So let’s take a few minutes to panic, a bit of time to recover, and then gear up for the fray.
We’ve got lots of very smart people working on this (like Brittney Packnett Cunningham, one of the lovely members who supports this newsletter!), and we’re gonna join together, get in formation, and fight this further entrenchment of power.
The same way our ancestors fought to bring us into this world, and the same way our contemporaries continue to do today.
Meanwhile - here’s some small ways you can make an impact this month
This July, we focus on interdependence, climate justice, animal rights, and acting local for a global impact. I admit I have no immediate response to the latest supreme court mind-fuck. But please do share if you’ve got ideas!
I know you are busy this summer - that’s why I made it quick & easy to find small ways to stay engaged
If you only have one minute, tackle one small action while nursing, washing dishes, or listening to the Bluey episode where slowly torture their dad for giggles.

Coming up next
Next month, I’ll be back with the July family action toolkit & special storytime bingo for our supporting members.
Speaking of these wonderful fantastic folks - let’s all give a bit hearty cheer for the folks who donate to keep these toolkits free for everybody, including our new members, Alexis D. & Meshell G. - we’re so happy to have you in community with us!
Meanwhile - if you start to panic: Take a breath. Check in with us. We can do this together.
with you,
Ashia
