There are so many things we need to talk about with our kids before they grow up and realize we’re too dorky to listen to. Don’t panic though. DO NOT PANIC.
::panicking just a little bit::
When I get overwhelmed by massive climate disasters, legislative evil, and other big dooms, I break out of inertia by taking one small, tiny action – right away.
Show your kids that little actions make a difference.
Once kids self-identify as a doer of helpful things, they’ll find it easier to build upon this experience. They’ll get more comfortable with discomfort. And they’ll learn that no matter what horrors the world throws at them, they don’t have to sit by and leave these problems for someone else to handle.

In keeping with July’s theme of teaching kids about interdependence, let’s join together and create sustainable futures for ourselves, too.
I’d like to formally and awkwardly invite you to join me in our upcoming Parent Activist Summer Accelerator.
Together, we will get a grip on all the ways we’re spreading ourselves thin so we can do less and make a rippling impact by rising the tide that lifts us all.
