Let's get through this winter without burning out again
Already exhausted this early into the holiday season? I got you.
Hey friends,
Whether you’re traveling, hosting family, struggling to pay for groceries, or washing all the dishes again after cooking every. single. meal., it’s normal to feel overwhelmed this holiday season.
By ‘normal,’ I don’t mean ‘This is okay and you should settle for it.’ I mean ‘normal’ as in your irritation and despair are appropriate. Feeling this way doesn’t make you a bad parent, it’s just a sign you’re surviving an unsustainable, oppressive system .
So how do you keep your wits about you? How do you avoid losing your shit with your kids or cancelling the holidays entirely?
What keeps you from losing your shit with your kids, cancelling your celebrations, or cancelling the holidays and setting the whole damn house ablaze? (All things our family has tried over the generations - none of which are healthy long-term solutions!)
Well… recognizing your own burnout before it becomes everyone else’s problem is a good first step. So I’m sharing the Recognizing Burnout Workbook - a bonus resources from our Winter Incubator.
Let’s identify early signs of burnout so you can self-regulate before you do something you regret.
If your go-to method is to fight-til-you-drop, it’s not just you who has to deal with the fallout. It’s your kids and those most vulnerable who rely on you.
Ignoring the early the signs of burnout doesn’t make you tough and independent. It just normalizes your dysfunction for the next generation and normalizes inequity.
Check it out if you’d like to show your kids a healthier alternative. And if you’d like to do more than this first step, come join me in this year’s Winter Incubator.
with you,
Ashia
